Wind will it be over?

Trees were falling like crazy at dusk when winds reached 60 mph in Clark County and over 100 mph along the coast.

NOWCAST - The cold front is just now passing through the western valleys but the highest winds will be near midnight or after when the main low center moves to our north. Don't let the lull at 7pm fool you. The heaviest steady rainfall is now over. But still some very cold showers moving our way Friday with hail and possible low elevation snow.

FORECAST - Increasing winds again between 9pm and midnight with gusts to 60-65 possible. Showers Friday with highs only 45 with possible hail and thunder. Low snow levels with heaviest showers. Low Friday night near freezing.

Wow... I just got back from a road trip around town. Roads are closed, trees are down, Highway 99 is closed again, there are police and fire trucks sprinkled everywhere, and there are detours to detours.

It reminds me of what it looked like after Tyndall AFB was hit by hurricane Ivan. Debris everywhere. As I was driving fairly large chunks of trees were falling - one hit my windshield and startled me to say the least.

I saw a tree laying on a house, the top of a tree blocking a road, trees on power lines, and large diameter tree fragments in the road (sometimes hidden by other debris).

It was also a little creepy driving through neighborhoods that had no power - no house lights, street lights, traffic lights etc.

I hope nobody was hurt, but it was kinda neat to drive around in it...
