Cold Waving Us Hello!

NOWCAST - Rain Sunday and a chance of showers Monday otherwise dry. Then a cold front slides in on Tuesday bringing heavy rain, winds and then much colder air. we are getting much closer now to the models predictions of a cold wave. Details still uncertain but a good chance of sub freezing temperatures and maybe some snow. But stay tuned for that. Otherwise mild temperatures and higher freezing levels until later Tuesday.

FORECAST - Sunday: Rain...breezy. Highs around 50. Southwest wind 15 to 25 mph.

Sunday night: Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers. Lows 35 to 40. West wind 10 to 15 mph becoming light after midnight.

Monday: Mostly cloudy. Highs 45 to 50 light wind..

Monday night: Partly cloudy. Areas of fog. Lows 35 to 40. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain. Highs 45 to 50.

Tuesday night: Rain likely. Snow level 500 feet. Lows around 35.

Vancouver Pearson field measured 7.14 inches and I recorded 7.64 inches here in north Salmon Creek; Dan Hein, north Camas, 9.29 inches; Claudia Chiasson, Carson, 13.89 inches; Judy Darke, Felida, 8.59 inches; Pete Conrad, Tukes Mountain near Battle Ground, 7.17 inches; Chuck Houghten, Hockinson Heights, 6.87 inches; Tyler Mode, Minnehaha, 6.58 inches; Nancy Ellifrit, Pioneer, 9.47 inches; Bud Maddux, Home Valley, 11.43 inches; Keith Andersen, Meadow Glade, 8.10 inches; Tom Brown, Westglade, 6.54 inches; Jim Knoll, Orchards, 7.68 inches; Ken McGowen, one mile NE of the fairgrounds, 8.79 inches; Will Hayden, Five Corners, 10.33 inches; Larry Lebsack, NE Hazel Dell, 6.83 inches; Linda Roberts, Prindle, 9.59 inches; Dennis Forbess, Landover Drive, 7.06 inches; Linda Ford, five miles north of Battle Ground, 9.33 inches; Bob Starr, Cougar, 17.69 inches; Ray Steiger, The Cedars (NE 183 St & NE 160 Ave), 6.49 inches; Robin Ruzek, Lakeshore, 8.07 inches; Phil Delany, above Dole Valley, 12.60 inches; Phil Harris, Washougal, 7.48 inches; and Ellen Smart, Ridgefield, 8.35 inches. These rainfall amounts for many observers were nearly half of what fell in November!
