OUTCAST - What others are saying:
"At this point, long range models through the end of the week and into next weekend keep us pretty cold so we'll have to keep an eye on that. Doesn't look like much moisture around, but I wouldn't be surprised to see lows in the teens and 20s again by next weekend.
If that holds, I get the feeling interest in our current monthly rain total will be trumped by other weather-related items ."

"A little break in the rain this evening and tonight as a few showers only are expected. Increasing rain Thursday morning as a second cold front moves inland. Behind the front, snow levels will drop to below 1000 feet as a mix of snow and rain becomes possible here in the Portland area. Temperatures tomorrow will only be in the 30s during heavier showers. Slightly warmer Friday as more rain comes our way."

"MUCH COLDER AIR PLUNGES THRU THE AREA WITH A COLD FRONT 12Z
TUESDAY...AND DOWN TO -9C AT H850 00Z WED...WITH ARCTIC AIR BUILDING
OVER THE YUKON. MAYBE SOME COLD CANADIAN AIR IN HERE AROUND THE
MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK AS 1050MB ARCTIC HIGH SETS UP OVER B.C./ALTA
BORDER." NWS, Seattle
"And it is 5-6 days out now, but models have come around to pretty good agreement on cold air arriving next Tuesday. " Mark Nelsen, KPTV
"Matt Zaffino (KGW-TV) mentioned that in 1996, just before we saw low elevation snows in Jan and Feb, we had very warm and wet weather. Looks a lot like this upcoming pattern over the weekend. Just something to think about. GFS has almost 5" of rain between now and Tuesday. I have always held true to my theory that extreme events seem to follow one another relatively close. If we see flooding rains this weekend I think we are "game on" for another pattern shift next week to cold and snow. " Steve Pierce, Vancouver
