NOWCAST - Hey, Friday's coming up in just a few hours TGIF for most of you and just another day in the hay for some of us. Eat your hearts out. Fair weather should reign on Friday rather than the real rain. Could be a sprinkle but I think we'll luck out and enjoy 65-70 degree temperatures. The weekend should hang together for a decent spell before May Day rolls in with what looks like more clouds and showers.OUTCAST - Congratulations to the Weather Channel with its 25th anniversary on May 2. According to NOAA, Solar Cycle number 24 will begin soon and run for the next few years. It will be curious to see what affects this has on our current global warming issues. Things may indeed settle down a bit as this cycle is not predicted to be as severe as the last one. For all you want to know about this hot spot, click here.

"At present the warmistas are insistent that failure to accept their view that catastrophe is imminent is heresy even though these prognostications rely on a process little more reliable than reading the entrails of a goat." Another's Blog.

You'll notice the KOIN TV banner from their web site has a new face, well not so new to local viewers but new to this station. Bruce Sussman joined the team this week replacing ousted Jeff Baskin. I watched his first show last evening at 11 pm. He did a very well done job and after his stint Jeff and Kelly welcomed him and at that very moment a HUGE fly landed in front of him on the desk. Kelly made a comment and picked up a wad of papers and hit it. Killed it dead right on camera. Sussman said, "Well we have carnage on the set. I better watch out." After a few ramblings from Kelly and Jeff, Sussman said we need cleanup on aisle five. It was a kicker. I hope they show it again. Talk about down to earth and character. I really enjoyed the relaxed unrehearsed moments. I guess this is one fly in the ointment that did good. Sussman is a breath of fresh air for KOIN and should weather this newscast well. Welcome Bruce to KOIN!
