Those April Showers Keep on Coming!

This week continues to look unsettled and April-like with cold air aloft dominating the skies producing more showers and a good chance of thunderstorms and hail showers later this week. The Washington and Oregon Cascades will receive more snow this week especially the higher elevations. So expect a dry day Sunday and part of Monday then more showers and cool, unsettled weather all week. Highs seasonal with sunshine otherwise with clouds way below normal.

OUTCAST - Did you know according to the New Mexico State Engineer that in just 15 minutes, more water flows down the Columbia River in Oregon than flows in the entire state of New Mexico in one year? Think about that the next time the rain is running down your back.

Today is my birthday and I am glad the sun was shining at least for a while. It was warm with the sun and quite chilly when those puffy gray/white clouds moved overhead. But that is to be expected in April.

I had an e-mail the other day from Crystal who maintains a web site that tracks global severe weather and other related events,. She says, "I have a website you might like - Global Disaster Watch. I track volcanoes, quakes, freak waves, climate change, etc. In watching all these events, I have come to the conclusion, like yourself, that climate change occurs in natural cycles. But what do you think is the cause of these cycles - I know you said the sun, but what changes its output? Do you think it is something about the area of space we cycle in? I have seen astronomy articles that give tantalizing hints of this but can't find anything that actually states it. Are you aware of any?" I sure haven't but it is an interesting take for sure. So much we do not know about things outside our little space that affects the planet. I'll keep my eyes peeled for anything related to this thought. Thanks Crystal for sharing!

Laurie David, left, and Sheryl Crow will travel in a hybrid bus to the stops on their "Stop Global Warming College Tour." David, producer of the documentary "An Inconvenient Truth," and Crow, rock singer believe that by doing a stint of concerts bringing the message to the people will help stop global warming. David says, "If people leave this event remembering just one thing, I hope it would be that the problem is urgent and we can solve it" Solve it? I doubt that? Adapt to climate change perhaps, but stop it?

Huge Weekend storm brewing? More snows are in the offing back east. Cold weather dominates much of the Nation. Read Here.
