This shot of the moon taken Monday evening is from the North Coast News, Ocean Shores, Washington. Tuesday evening is the full Sturgeon Moon and skies should be clear showing a wonderful moonrise.  And this after a clear sunny and should we say, hot day? Enjoy as it will be our last 90 degree day this month as cool weather settles in after Wednesday and even a  risk of a shower or too but mainly across northern Washington. Cool weather well into next week as computer models indicate tonight. It was cold in Clark County early Monday morning with 34.8 degrees near Moulton Falls and upper 30's in a few other outlying locations. And there were areas of fog. Yeah, a touch of autumn is in the air.   -Pat

Our on again off again summer weather is now on again at least for the first half of the week. After a  very cool weekend and even some showers scattered about, we will jump back into the hot category Tuesday and Wednesday befall tumbling down once again. Vancouver officially did not receive any measurable rain fall so the tally of dry days is at 51 as of Sunday evening. Not bad. Overnight lows last Friday dipped into the upper 30's in Yacolt and Brush Prairie.

Had to share this photo of a roof mounted weather station. I wonder what kind of temperatures are recorded during the winter when the fireplace is in use?  This was taken in the Kent area, no one I know thank goodness!

Well enjoy your week and enjoy the dwindling hours of daylight and the sweet smell of late summer. Yummy, the wild blackberries are ripe and are just about everywhere, get some!           -Pat

You can see the smoke at sunset from the Mt. Hopper wildfire in the Olympics taken at Ocean Shores Friday evening. Northeast winds are blowing the smoke out to sea. Those offshore winds will keep things hot and dry through Monday and then things cool slowly and by the end of next week back to the same old, same old weather. Gray skies in the morning, afternoon sun and cool. You get the picture. Meanwhile keep cool and be careful with fire. High fire danger for a while especially on the west side of the Cascades. It was in the 80's along the Washington coast Friday and will be again on Saturday. -Pat
